This year I went as Missy Elliott from the Supa Dupa Fly video. Exactly one stranger called it out from across the bar, so it was all worth it.

I’ve been getting a lot of questions about this—it was originally a blow-up ninja suit that I painted black. The back of the suit has a fan built into it with a belt-clipped battery pack. It was on all night.

We’ve made it through the first night of Halloween weekend. That’s Wilson, anti-McD’s fries, and Batali (with a Michael Myers photobomb). Not pictured: the Winklevi.

Attending an Almost Halloween party tonight, Carrie and I are going as Sushi & Chopsticks. But don’t worry, real Halloween calls for a much more involved costume. You didn’t really think I’d try to top Weird Al with sushi, did you?

Do you believe that Smarties could sponsor parties? They provide candy lipsticks, necklaces, and plain old Smarties. I don’t even remember who I came to this party with.

I’ve abandoned Big Apple Red for the time being in favor of midnight blue with some errant glitter streaks (and sadly no disco thumbs). Last round got a little wild so I’m trying to tone it down a bit. This is growing up.
